A dangerous state of affairs when a club comes to rely on the same old core of people to run and man its sims and activities. This concept was identified and named by Seth Cotis.

Classic signs of inbreeding include:
- Relying on the same people year after year to host sims or hold key positions in the club.
- A core group of people who man or host several sims in the same club.
- The top leaders of the club don't change much over several years.

When identified, clubs must cut and consolidate sims that share similar crews, retire or remove old leaders who are no longer as effective as they once were, and promote newer members to hosting and key positions in the club. Otherwise, if left unchecked, inbreeding can easily lead to stagnation, decline, revolution, and/or death of the club.
