Noel (ノエル Noeru), alternatively referred to by his mortal name Akira Kato. He is an obake, a class of yōkai. Hence, he has the capability of manipulating his physical form to transform into the shape of a demonic wolf. He is considered a rather high-level swordsman having several years as a child of sword practice. Initially wielding a katana, after dying from an assailant attack and supposedly being resurrected, he was beside a deadly sword that had been much larger and more detailed. For the following years after his "rebirth", he mastered a new technique to manipulate between his mortal and wolf form, as well as the ability to successfully use this new blade. As of now, Noel is currently a literal eighty-five years of age. Physically, he appears to be in his mid-twenties.

Being an obake, Noel is a very dark-spirited demonic person. He is very bloodthirsty and since his resurrection has promised himself to kill to protect and kill to grow in power. He is always looking to fight but in his soul is mentally good-spirited when it comes to the fate of others, as during his time as a master demonic swordsman, he would protect the innocent from being hurt.

Shape-shifting[]
Most obake typically have the ability to change their forms. Being of this species, Noel, after his resurrection, has been able to change his form into a wolf. He cannot abuse this ability for if he remains in his wolf form for too long, he will remain a wolf forever. This form gives him immense speed and boosts his strength, which is why this ability is most useful in hand-to-hand combat.
