The SS Tailchaser was a Star Trek chat based sim that ran for periods between 2001 and 2007.
Story[]
The Tailchaser, NAR-90010, was a civilian ship set in the early era of Star Trek: The Next Generation whose captain and crew were devoted to frontier exploration and research. The ship was specifically designed for the sim, and most of the content of the game consisted of new, non-cononical elements, to fit with the nature of the sim's unusual premise.

Creation[]
The Tailchaser was established in June 2001 by Haemis MacAllt as a chat sim on America Online.
Trek Online and Rogue Fleet[]
The sim soon merged into Trek Online and served in that club until 2003, at which time it split off to become part of the Rogue Fleet Simulation Group. The Tailchaser was inactive for most of the time between 2003 and 2005.
Tailchaser Simulation Group[]
The sim resumed activity in early 2006 as the sole member of the Tailchaser Simulation Group. During this period, the Tailchaser met Sunday evenings from 9:00pm - 10:30pm Eastern Time in an AOL Instant Messenger chat room. The Tailchaser held its final sim in January 2007.
