Simming History[]

STSF GromVik was introduced to simming in the summer of 1999 in one of America Online’s user created public chatrooms. Although the independent group never got off the ground, STSF GromVik’s interest was piqued. In the summer of 2000, STSF GromVik began simming in the SFOL Academies under the guidance of HOST OGF Roc, HOST OGF Jackal and HOST OGF Daisy. After three simulations, STSF GromVik graduated and was promoted to the rank of Ensign.

STSF GromVik’s first assignment was aboard Starbase Aegis as an Assistant Engineer. He served under the direction of Lt. Commander Hartle, Chief Engineer, and HOST OGF Sorehl and HOST OGF JKyle, the game's command staff. It was not soon after arriving that HOST OGF Sorehl left the simulation and the name of the simulation was changed to Sky Harbor Aegis. Coincidentally, the new name of the simulation was one of those submitted by STSF GromVik, but it cannot be verified if his submission was the one actually voted on.

STSF GromVik continued on board Aegis until 2004, when he resigned due to real life commitments. During his tenure he rose from Ensign to the rank of Commander, although he never held a command level position. He became the Chief Engineer in 2003, following the departure of Lt. Commander Hartle. He was also a part of the move from SFOL to STSF. STSF GromVik still sims infrequently with the Aegis crew as CO of the USS Lewis.

In 2001, STSF GromVik added his second simulation, the U.S.S. Phoenix of SFOL. He also became Chief Engineer on this simulation and rose to the rank of First Lieutenant before resigning and joining the U.S.S. Reaent in 2003 as its Chief Engineer. STSF GromVik resigned from the Reaent in 2005 after rising to the rank of Lt. Commander.

In the summer of 2003, STSF GromVik coined the name “Pandarians” in reference to a fictional species of panda-like creatures who had cannibal-like characteristics. These special guest villains would appear frequently in the 2003, 2004 and 2008 summer academies.

Hosting History[]

In 2003, STSF GromVik became an official Game Master of the Star Trek Simulation Forum (STSF). Shortly thereafter he partnered with STSF_Laura and hosted the Tuesday “Late Nite” Academy. The Academy ran from 2003 until 2005.

In 2004, STSF GromVik began to see a growing need for a new advanced simulation in the forum. No simulation to date had dealt with the “future reality” of Star Trek, that is, the events that transpired after the Star Trek: Voyager series and the film Star Trek: Nemesis. From this desire, and after nearly a year of planning and development, the USS Agincourt was born. Although the founder of the simulation concept, much of the details for the sim were solidified with the help of Colonel C.E. Harper, the simulation's original Executive Officer (XO) and eventual Commanding Officer (CO).

STSF GromVik launched the Agincourt simulation in 2005 with a nearly full crew compliment. A year later STSF GromVik decided to take a leave of absence for real life issues and left his position as Commanding Officer.

In 2007, STSF GromVik returned to hosting duties, co-hosting the Tuesday STSF Academy with STSF_Jami.
